Why we need to experiment?

Experimentation is the only way to learn about the unknown. Without experimentation, we remain in the dark.

Just imagine your smartphone 10 years ago. It was either a clunky device with no apps or a high-end phone which cost a fortune. The smartphone has become a necessity in our everyday life today.

Your smartphone you have now is the culmination of a series of experiments, refinements and upgrades. Most of the technology and devices we use today are made more efficient through years of trial and error.

We need to see if our ideas are valid or feasible in the real world. This is true for not only in Science or Physics, but for all kinds of arts and sciences. If Newton hadn’t tested the laws he proposed, they would simply be words on a page.

What if Watson & Crick hadn’t performed experiments to demonstrate that DNA had a helical structure? An equation gains value only if it aligns with real-world results.

Thomas Edison would have continued without patents on his name had he not tested his ideas through rigorous experimentation and testing: he was awarded over 1000 US patents at the turn of the century!

These weren’t just flukes. Edison conducted countless trials to determine precisely how much current should run through his bulbs, how large the filament should be, what kind of vacuum to create inside them, and so on.

Apart from giving valuable insights, experimenting helps us in making quick decisions. Nick Winter in his article “ You need to experiment ” says that experiments open our minds and boosts our potential.

We need to do this too!

How many times have you failed in your life? How many times have you fallen on your face? There’s no failure in falling down, what matters is that you keep on trying.

So let’s experiment in our lives, let’s do it till we get it right.

Keep Rocking!!
